About the art
01In F99-2 Ellipses, Red, Marie Passa activates the wall through two sweeping, curved forms that introduce rhythm, movement, and bold color into architectural space. Layers of red intersect with subtle linear structures, creating a dynamic visual pulse that oscillates between surface and depth. The elongated elliptical shapes appear to float, blurring distinctions between painting and sculpture. Through balance, repetition, and spatial flow, the work transforms the architectural plane into a field of energy, where color becomes motion and form becomes experience. Marie Passa is a French photographer based in Paris whose practice is informed by her background in architecture. She trained at the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Versailles and worked internationally with Wilmotte & Associés before turning to photography. Her work explores modernist architecture through color-filtered imagery that moves between reality and abstraction and is often described as meditative and poetic. Passa’s photographs have been exhibited internationally and presented at platforms including Aipad New York, Art Basel, and Paris Photo.
