About the art
01In Troisième Églogue, Marie Passa distills a quiet forest landscape into a minimalist study of vertical lines and subtle tonal variation. Slender tree trunks emerge in soft black and white, forming a gentle rhythm that guides the eye through the composition. Slight blurring and overlapping branches introduce a sense of movement within stillness, evoking the experience of walking slowly through a winter woodland. The image balances form and atmosphere, creating a contemplative space where solitude, nature, and calm converge. Marie Passa is a French photographer based in Paris whose practice is shaped by her training in architecture. She studied at the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Versailles and worked internationally with Wilmotte & Associés before turning to photography. Her work explores modernist architecture and landscape through monochromatic and color-filtered imagery that moves between reality and abstraction and is often described as meditative and poetic. Passa’s photographs have been exhibited internationally and featured at platforms including Aipad New York, Art Basel, and Paris Photo.
