About the art

01

Cap de Ses Salines is a photographic work by Josh von Staudach that captures the vastness and shifting character of the sea through a triptych format. Rather than fragmenting the landscape, the three-part composition enhances the sense of horizon, depth, and stillness. The image reflects the changing hues of the seascape, balancing softness and power, and invites a moment of quiet contemplation. Through this approach, the work emphasizes perception, atmosphere, and the meditative qualities of nature. Josh von Staudach is a German photographer born in Stuttgart in 1964, known for challenging visual conventions and expanding the boundaries of photographic perception. Open to contemporary image-editing techniques, his practice is driven by an interest in the unfamiliar and in viewpoints that cannot be captured from a single perspective. He is also dedicated to extreme photography, positioning his camera in hard-to-reach locations and developing radical macro and telephoto techniques. His work has been exhibited and published internationally.
