Conducted by WISE in 2017 in support of the Qatar National Autism Plan 2017 to 2021, this report examines Qatar’s progress in advancing its vision for inclusive education for pupils with autism and explores strategies to better address their educational needs. The study underscores the vital role of education in fostering social inclusion and enhancing quality of life for individuals with autism and their families.

Key calls to action include launching targeted awareness campaigns that frame autism as a difference rather than a deficit, ensuring the meaningful involvement of individuals with autism in policy development, and expanding early intervention services alongside professional training programs.

Recommendations are structured around three core areas: awareness, knowledge, and understanding; policy, provision, and practice; and personal and professional development. Together, they offer practical guidance for strengthening Qatar’s inclusive education system and better supporting students with autism.
