About the offering
01Our Career Readiness Program supports secondary students aged 15 to 18 at Awsaj Academy who have mild to moderate learning difficulties, helping them build the skills and confidence needed for life beyond school.
Integrated into the academy’s curriculum, the program combines workshops, interactive activities, field visits, and practical learning experiences that introduce students to workplace expectations and future career pathways.
Through structured stages of career readiness, students access work-based learning opportunities, internships, and job shadowing opportunities tailored to their interests and abilities through QCDC’s business partnerships. These experiences give them meaningful exposure to real work environments, strengthen their independence and workplace readiness, and support a smoother transition from education to employment.
By pairing student preparation with employer engagement around inclusive practices, the program also contributes to a more supportive pathway into the world of work.
