About the art

01

In Diskus, Christine Kröncke explores a refined interplay between light, texture, and form through a sculptural wall object that balances restraint with quiet presence. The gently convex, circular metallic surface appears to glow from within, casting a soft halo along its perimeter. Minimal in geometry yet rich in effect, the work transforms a simple form into a contemplative focal point shaped by reflection and ambient light. Subtle variations in the hammered surface softly distort surrounding colors and movement, creating a moment of stillness that blurs the boundary between functional design and contemporary art. Christine Kröncke is a German designer and the founder of Christine Kröncke Interior Design, established in Munich. Her studio is known for its elegant furniture, refined lighting, and integrated interior concepts that combine craftsmanship with contemporary sensibility. Kröncke’s work consistently bridges design and art, emphasizing material quality, proportion, and atmosphere.
