About the offering
01This six-session course supports parents and caregivers of teenagers aged 10 to 16 on the autism spectrum by addressing key topics such as understanding autism during adolescence, self-esteem, social interaction, and other challenges commonly experienced during the teenage years. The program encourages open sharing, active participation, and incorporates perspectives of individuals on the autism spectrum throughout the sessions.
Content and delivery are thoughtfully paced to allow time for questions, reflection, and discussion, ensuring parents and caregivers leave with practical strategies they feel confident applying at home. The program also aims to strengthen the sense of support provided by the school, while helping parents build stronger connections with their teenager and gain deeper insight into challenges faced at school and in daily life.
Sessions foster a collaborative learning environment where parents can exchange experiences, gain new perspectives, and build confidence in supporting their teenager’s development and wellbeing.
