About the art

01

In Blue’s Wake, Nostalgia’s Span 29, Salman Al Malik presents a quiet, reflective scene shaped by memory and feeling. Groups of figures appear layered against a deep blue background, their forms softened by gentle lines and textured surfaces. Shades of blue, green, and muted yellow overlap, creating a calm rhythm across the surface. The composition feels suspended in time, allowing the viewer to linger on the sense of togetherness and the mood of remembrance rather than on specific details. Salman Al Malik is a Qatari visual artist and cartoonist based in Doha. He studied Education and Arts in Cairo and is known for his expressive use of color and human figures. His work has been shown in international exhibitions, including the Cairo Biennale and the Dhaka Biennale, and is held in major collections such as LACMA and the National Museum of Qatar. Al-Malik has received numerous regional and international art awards.
