Several months ago, a child was born at a hospital in Doha with several birth defects, including a misfunctioning heart and kidney. The physicians and parents knew there was hardly anything to do to save the newborn, but the parents were not sure if the child’s life support should be removed, fearing it might be considered a sin in Islam.
