Ouassim Alami is the Strategic Initiatives Advisor at Qatar Foundation, where he identifies, designs, and delivers innovative ideas that address Qatar’s most critical needs in the field of environmental sustainability.

In his current role, Alami overseas the implementation and growth of Park & Plant, QF’s flagship forestation project aiming to make of Education City the lungs of Qatar, as well as the construction and operation of Green Island, Qatar’s first community-centric recycling compound.

For the past three years, Alami has also been developing CSR-driven environmental concepts to make Education City a catalyst for private sector companies that are willing to offset their carbon footprint; more than 20 national and international companies have joined at least one of QF’s environmental regeneration programs, greatly contributing to accelerate action against climate change.

In his previous roles at Qatar Foundation, Alami was behind the inception, ideation, and development of the Education City Smart City framework. He also contributed to the design and delivery of major assets, such as the Education City Stadium, Education City Tram, and multiple other academic projects.

Alami holds a master’s degree in design management from École Supérieure de Design Industriel -CREAPOLE E.S.D.I, France, and a master’s degree in international finance from Université Panthéon-Assas Paris II, France.
