Dr. Mourad Ouzzani is a principal scientist at the Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), under Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). His research interests lie in the fields of data management and analytics with a focus on data integration and data cleaning.

Before joining QCRI, he was a research associate professor at Purdue University, where he received two Seeds of Success Awards. Since joining in 2011, Dr. Ouzzani has played a key role in establishing the data analytics group within QCRI.

Dr. Ouzzani is the project lead of Rayyan, the systematic reviews web and mobile app, that now serves more than 30k users worldwide. His work has led to numerous publications in top tier venues including PVLDB, TKDE, SIGMOD, and ICDE. Dr. Ouzzani has been PI or CoPI in more than 15 grant proposals funded by NSF, NIH, DHS, as well as other funding agencies. He has also received several prestigious awards, including Best Demo Awards, ICDE (2019), Elevation to the grade of IEEE Senior Member (2019), and Best Demo Award, SIGMOD (2015).

Dr. Ouzzani holds a PhD from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, US, and a BSc and MSc from Université des sciences et de la technologie Houari-Boumédiène, Algeria, all in computer science.
