Eleni Polymenopoulou is an assistant professor at the College of Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). Her research interests include human rights, cultural rights, freedom of expression, arts and law, gender and law, religions and law, and Islamic law.

Dr. Polymenopoulou is also a visiting assistant professor at the University of Grenoble, France; and a visiting assistant professor at Georgetown University in Qatar. In 2019, she was awarded a visiting fellowship at University College London for her project on cultural heritage, and a visiting fellowship at Harvard University, USA.

Dr. Polymenopoulou has collaborated with several NGOs, including the Greek Council for Refugees (Athens), Article19 (London), and the International Press Institute (Vienna), and is also a children’s book author and illustrator.

Dr. Polymenopoulou holds a PhD in human rights law/international law from the University of Grenoble, France, and the University of Athens co-supervising.
