Minister of Education and Higher Education
Her Excellency Buthaina bint Ali Al-Nuaimi was appointed as Minister of Education and Higher Education in October 2021. She is also the Secretary General of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science.
Prior to this position, HE Buthaina bint Ali Al-Nuaimi was the President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation from 2016 to 2021.
She has more than 20 years of experience in the education sector. At the beginning of her career, she was a teacher, a head of department then a vice principal at the Ministry of Education schools. She Joined Qatar Foundation in 2006 and worked in several leadership positions in Pre-K-12 Education. She was the founding President of the Pre-University Education and during her tenure, she expanded existing programs and established new centers and specialized schools. She served in many national education committees and schools boards and among them are: the Qatari-French School Lycee Voltaire and the Joint Advisory Board of Texas A & M at Qatar.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in Arts and Education from Qatar University and an EMBA from HEC Paris in Qatar.
