Mohammed Al Janahi graduated from the College of Engineering at Qatar University in 2010 and worked at Maersk Oil Qatar as a mechanical engineer.
In 2014, he was seconded through Teach for Qatar to be a mathematics teacher for the preparatory stage at Al-Ahnaf bin Qais Preparatory School for Boys. During his two years in this role, he brought mathematics to life for students through educational films based on real-life scenarios, and also contributed to enriching digital Arabic content by creating an educational channel that simplified materials for students to use in their work. He also wrote lessons in the form of poems and recorded them as songs which have been utilized by students and teachers across the Arab world.
Al-Janahi has shared his educational methods through hosting training workshops and lectures for teachers in Qatar and abroad, and has been recognized by several governmental and private bodies for his efforts in education.
In 2017, he moved from the energy and industry sector to the education sector full-time, as Community Communication Officer at Teach for Qatar, and obtained a Master’s degree in Curricula, Instructions and Assessment from the College of Education at Qatar University in 2020. In 2022, he joined Qatar Foundation (QF) as a professional instructional designer at its Education Development Institute, where he later held an assistant principal position at QF’s Tariq Bin Ziad School. He currently holds the position of Elementary School Principal at QF’s Awsaj Academy.
