Victoria Basma
Policy Development Officer at the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE)
Victoria Basma is a Policy Development officer at the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), where she manages WISE’s EdTech track, which includes working with key EdTech investors and entrepreneurs on projects that aim to create a positive impact within education.
A former education consultant and teacher, Basma has almost 10 years of experience working in education. As part of her role at WISE, Victoria has also contributed to ongoing advocacy and research efforts on key education policy topics, including the design of local ecosystems to enable sustainable education innovation, Africa’s future in education and its global impacts, analyzing global trends within education innovation; and EdTech testbeds, their development and impact evaluation.
During her previous role as an education consultant, Basma supported the design of special intervention programs, curriculum planning, and professional development strategies in partnership with schools across London.
Basma holds a master’s degree in social policy and development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), specializing in development in education and social policy reform.
