WISE Prize Laureates Speak at Skoll World Forum in Oxford

The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) recently hosted an informal roundtable with four WISE Prize for Education Laureates at the Skoll World Forum in Oxford.

The discussion focused on girls’ education and included the participation of Dr Sakena Yacoobi, Founder and Executive Director of the Afghan Institute of Learning; Ms. Ann Cotton, Founder of Camfed; Ms. Vicky Colbert, Founder and Director of Escuela Nueva Foundation; and Dr Madhav Chavan, President of Pratham Education Foundation.

During the roundtable, the Laureates stressed the vital importance of girls’ education while engaging in discussions with those present at the session, including Ms. Sally Osberg, CEO of the Skoll Foundation, and Ms. Safeena Husain, Founder and Executive Director of Educate Girls.

The Skoll World Forum supports entrepreneurial approaches and solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges by bringing together social entrepreneurs with partners in a collaborative pursuit of learning and large-scale social change. The WISE session brought the dedicated work of the Laureates to the attention of a broader audience comprising high-level international stakeholders in the UK.
