High school students had the chance to experience life as a Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) engineering student on campus in Education City. The event took place on 13 February.
Students met professors, staff and current students during the daylong event. Professors presented to students on what it means to be an engineer and about the four degrees the branch campus offers: chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and petroleum engineering.
Ghada Al-Haroon, a current Texas A&M at Qatar student, talked to the audience about her experience in transitioning from high school to college life. She shared her personal account of how she was able to adjust to the demands of college life in which students are expected to become independent learners who are responsible for their decisions.
The day concluded with Admissions Time during which the applicants and prospective students had the chance to meet with admissions officers to discuss application files.
