A record number of graduate students have been welcomed to Hamad bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU’s) Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII). Orientation events were organized for the Class of 2016 students who are enrolled in TII’s already established MA in Translation Studies program (MATS) and its inaugural MA in Audiovisual Translation program (MAAT).
This year the number of students admitted at TII has doubled with 24 students enrolled in the MATS program and 13 in the new MAAT program. The student body is composed of highly qualified Qatar-based candidates of different nationalities, as well as three new international students from the United States, Belarus, and the Ukraine.
During orientation, the students were introduced to faculty members and professors, who provided them with brief insights into coursework details and related academic activities.
