Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and its partner universities hosted their annual recruitment event, Discover Education City (DEC), on 1 and 2 October at the HBKU Student Center.
A large number of high school students, along with their parents and high school administrators from across the country attended this year’s DEC. Throughout the two-day event, visitors had the chance to learn more about HBKU and its partner universities, with a specific focus on the undergraduate programs they offered.
Some of the highlights of DEC 2013 included sessions in English and Arabic on out of classroom opportunities; information on admissions to HBKU’s partner universities, as well as standardized testing requirements and a presentation about the Financial Aid programs available.
Both HBKU and its partner universities were present over both days to assist students and address any queries that they had. The partner universities included Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQatar), Weil Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q), Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ), Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMUQ), Georgetown University - School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Q), and Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q).
Over the years, DEC has become one of the key events on HBKU’s calendar, with 2013 marking the 10th year of this annual event.
