There are only five days remaining to the close of Vodafone’s 2nd literary competition following which a panel of judges – Qatari literary and luminary experts – will convene to agree the winners of the QR145,000 prize pot.
The competition, under the patronage of H.E Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, the Minister of Culture and Heritage, was launched on the 14 December in line with the theme of Qatar National Day celebrations 2014 “Itreated you with honesty, guidance and integrity”, which comes from a poem written by Qatar’s founder Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammed Al-Thani.
Qatar’s citizens and residents have until the 13 February 2015 to take part in one of the two competition’s categories:
Taking inspiration from the competition’s title “I treated you with honesty, guidance and integrity”, submissions have to be in the form of 1 short story between 500 and 1000 words. The prizes for this category is as follows; 1st Prize QR20,000, 2nd Prize QR15,000 and 3rd Prize QR10,000.
Submissions have to be a collection of stories, on any subject matter, with a minimum of 10 stories or 100 pages. The prizes for this category are as follows; 1st Prize QR50,000, 2nd Prize QR30,000 and 3rd Prize QR20,000.
