The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), member of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS), organizes a seminar on “Shari’a Application in Free Societies: From the Legal to the Ethical Perspective” on Tuesday, 3 December 2013 at 7:00 pm at the premises of QFIS.
This seminar comes among a series of public events to be held by CILE throughout the academic year in different disciplines including: economics, politics, arts, media, environment, bioethics, psychology, methodology, and gender studies. By organizing such events, the center seeks to deepen discussion of certain new issues and provide ethical approaches and solutions.
Dr Mohamed Moctar Al-Shinqiti, a prominent political thinker and Professor of Islam and political ethics at CILE, will give
this lecture in which he is going to highlight some issues with the application of Shari’a and how to ethically address them.
The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) aims to contribute to reform and renewal of Islamic thought by developing a contemporary vision guided by the fundamental principles of the Holy Qur’an, Sunnah and the higher objectives of Islamic Shari’a.
