As part of the GOALS Exhibition, which highlights grassroots stories about football, community, and culture, we will be engaging Muna El Kurd in a storytelling and poetry event on 5 December, from 2-3:30pm at Multaqa (Education City Student Center).
Muna El Kurd is a Palestinian activist based in the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem. Along with her twin brother, Mohammed El Kurd, she helped bring international attention to the illegal annexation of Palestinian homes in Sheikh Jarrah by settlers. She has been a notable critic of Israel's forced displacement of Palestinians in Jerusalem and gained prominence for her activism on social media. Muna will be sharing her story and reciting some of her mother's poems during this 75-minute conversation.
