GOAL 22 is the first-ever international school exchange programme alongside the FIFA World Cup™️. The year-long school programme is designed to ensure a lasting legacy of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️ that embodies social responsibility. Through this programme, we create a network of schools committed to championing ethical and inclusive sport with the aim of nurturing a generation of change-makers and empowering communities.  

Phase Two of Goal 22 focuses on the theme of Creating Impact and will culminate in the primary youth activation around the World Cup in November.

School groups from all competing nations will convene in Oxygen Park for the Generation Amazing Festival just ahead of the World Cup. Through workshops and other activities, participants will gain an insight into the practical applications of Sport for Development education during the Generation Amazing Festival. In addition, participants will take part in a unique Generation Amazing football tournament, playing for a social cause that they have chosen to champion. To mark the Festival’s end on 21 November they will also have the opportunity to support their nations at a FIFA World Cup match.

The programme will continue into 2023 as a legacy initiative where the youth that participated in the Festival will take what they learned and pass it on in their communities through legacy projects and advocacy campaigns.
