A History of Palestinian Hospitality

Ḥaram Al-Ibrāhīmī or the "Cave of the Patriarchs" in southern West Bank, Palestine, is known as the burial place of the Prophet Ibrahim, his son and grandson, and their wives. Throughout the Middle Ages, until the British Mandate, it was also a center of hospitality exemplifying the best practices of Arab-Islamic hospitality. This lecture will explore the history of the hospitality practices associated with this holy place.

Speaker: Dr Yousef Waleed Meri, Professor, History of Interfaith Relations in the Middle East and the History of Religions, College of Islamic Studies, HBKU
