Christopher Miles

Christopher Miles is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris (1986–1989); the École du Louvre (1989–1992), where he specialised in the history of Western sculpture; and the École Nationale d’Administration (1992–1994).

As a civil administrator, Christopher Miles joined the French Ministry of Culture and Communication in 1994. Until 1997, he was Head of the budget office at the general administration directorate before being appointed Administrator of the Théâtre National de l’Odéon (1997–2003) and then Director of the French Institute in Barcelona, Spain (2003–2006). He was most recently General Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Communication from 2014 to 2017 before being appointed General Director of the Palais de Tokyo in May 2017, where he has also served as Acting President between January and September 2019.
