Stars of Science
What is Stars of Science?
Stars of Science is the first Pan-Arab docu-reality TV program dedicated to innovation. Created to inspire the next generation of young Arab inventors.
Following an international recruitment campaign, 16 young women and men from different academic and professional backgrounds are selected by an expert jury and given the chance to develop their innovation project.
Working from a specially built studio, the candidates have access to an array of state-of-the art resources as well as the support of top professionals from Qatar Foundation universities and beyond.
Successive televised rounds
After a week of ‘orientation’ that is dedicated to personal development activities, the 16 hopefuls take part in the competition through successive televised rounds, each of them corresponding to a key stage of the innovation process:
- Proof of Concept
- Product Engineering
- Design
- Business & Marketing
The evaluation of the projects is performed by juries specific to each stage of the competition, and candidates are able to pick a project partner to support them in one phase of the innovation process.
At the Grand Final, TV viewers and a VIP jury decide on the final ranking and the award of prizes worth a total of $600,000.
