Qatar National Library (QNL), a member of Qatar Foundation, recently hosted a special event for adults titled ‘Coloring for Adults’ at the Education City’s Clubhouse.
The event was attended by many members of the community who joined QNL in exploring the new trend of coloring for adults – a trend that has taken the world by storm. Just like meditation, coloring helps the participants switch off from other thoughts and focus only on the moment, helping to reduce anxiety, create focus and bring about a sense of calm and relief.

The event was well organized, with round tables and a variety of adult coloring sketches to choose on each table, complete with a palette of colored markers.

According to Sebastian Wilke, Information Services Librarian for Music, QNL, who was also responsible for organizing the event, people love adult coloring not just because it relieves stress but also because of the activity itself. He said: “As QNL, we thought that since coloring for adults is such a hugely popular trend, we must support the trend and provide an opportunity for the public in this country to come and try it for themselves. We hope to be able to do this on a regular basis.

“We want to inspire people and give them the space to be creative and unleash their potential. I think it is important that QF gives people the opportunity to partake in such activities and for us, it is important to support such initiatives.”
