Community Building is one of the key responsibilities of a Community Development Advisor. Community Building is about getting to know residents and fellow staff members, both individually and collectively, by investing time and energy into activities and events that will help facilitate the development of positive and meaningful relationships. As Para-professional student staff, these peer advisors assist students with their transition to the rigors of college life by serving as a campus resource, a role model of a successful student and in some cases, a mentor for new students. A Residential Education Model is in place to assist staff with:
CDA's are responsible for assisting the students on their floors and throughout the building. They are directly supervised by a Residence Hall Director (RHD).
