Qatar Foundation supports film featuring Rumi
Doha, 18 May, 2008 - Rumi, the famous 13th century Islamic poet and mystic will be featured in an international co-production involving Qatar, India and Italy according to a spokesperson from Qatar Foundation. The film is supported by Qatar Foundation as part of its mission to promote education, science and community development.
Scheduled to start principal photography in January 2009, the film is the brainchild of Indian film maker Muzaffar Ali and will be produced by Italian producer Igor Uboldi.
An Academy Award-winning lineup of professionals has been assembled to work on the project, including cinematographer Vittoriao Storaro, production designer Eugenio Zanetti and music composer Richard Horowitz. The script has also benefited from the supervision of famed spiritual counselor Deepak Chopra.
