Qatar Foundation’s commitment to promoting local and regional heritage has led to the development of Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art.

Mathaf (Museum) contains more than 6,000 paintings, sculptures and works on paper, dating from the 1840s to the present day.

Designed by French architect Jean-François Bodin to contain 12 gallery spaces, an education center, library, café and gift shop, Mathaf is temporarily housed in a converted school within QF premises before it moves to a larger locale.
